New Workshops starting in February

February Half Term Workshops

This coming half term I am offering both Art and Clay workshops. All classes are a maximum of 5.

For those coming to a clay workshop, we will be hand building and your pieces will be fired. You will have a choice to return to colour and glaze your work or take it home bisque fired to paint yourself. You can sign up for any number of days.

For Art workshops you will take your work home at the end of the session.

12+yrs. Studio Sessions: Tetra Pak printing

Tuesday 17 Feb, 10.00-13.00pm or

Thursday 19 Feb, 2.00-5.00pm

Cost: £30 for 3 hours

Young adults, come and try your hand at carving/drawing into tetra paks (empty drinks cartons!) and making beautiful prints.

7-11 yrs

Cost: £25 per session, £45 for 2 sessions, £60 for all 3 sessions

Wednesday 18 Feb. 10 - 12.30pm

Thursday 19 Feb. 10.00-12.30pm

Friday 20 Feb. 10-00-12.30pm

Exploring clay - making relief texture tiles, pinch pot animals, mythical creatures or mini sculptures - or even trying out your own ideas! You will use colour slips & underglazes to colour your work and it will be fired for you to collect in a couple of weeks.

There will also be opportunities to do some drawing and experiment with oil pastels and watercolour on paper.

6 week block workshops

This is an opportunity through guided projects to learn new skills and develop techniques including coiling, slab building, textured tiles and small sculptures.

Children 6-11 yrs

Total Cost: £96 for 6 weeks

Duration: 1.5 hours

Adult Beginners - clay hand-building

This is an opportunity learn new techniques or develop existing skills including coiling, slab building, textured tiles and small sculptures. There are a variety of techniques to choose from:-

Total Cost: £50 which includes a making session followed 2 weeks later by a decorative and glazing session.

Duration of each session: 2 hours

Option 1

Monday 23 Feb - 7.00-9.00pm: making

Slab build a vase or press mould a dish and add patterns and textures to your work.

Monday 9 March 7.00-9.00pm - decorate & glaze your creations

Option 2

Monday 2 March 7.00-9.00pm - making

‘Mishima’ clay inlay dishes or pots. you will make a slab dish and a pinch pot if time. These will be wrapped to become leather hard for your following session.

Monday 16 March 7.00-9.00pm - decorating

You will carve into your leather hard pots, use colour slip and then scrape away to reveal an inlay pattern.

I will also be offering 1:1 sessions for all ages or small group sessions for family or groups of friends on request. These can be tailored to a theme of your choice with techniques to suit your ability and can be discussed on enquiry.

Sessions last between 1.5 - 2 hours -dates and times arranged individually

Cost for 1:1= £25 for making and bisque firing

£25 to glaze and second firing

Cost for group/family session (minimum 3 people) £17 pp includes all glazing & firing

Creative Birthday Parties for kids (maximum 5)

Cost = £150 - includes all materials and firing if relevant - children get to take home amazing creations!

Option 1: make in clay: 2.5 hours with 20 min break for clay to dry out a bit before raw glazing - these can be themed to your choice

Option 2: Plaster casting: 2.5 hours with 20 mins break for plaster to set - bring your favourite objects or choose a theme and children press objects into clay to create a diorama which they will then cast in plaster of paris.

Option 3: Art activity: 2.5 hours - card sculpture, printmaking, Fimo jewellery,
